Ping Eye2+ Review

Accuracy

Less-Avg-More

Very accurate. Less offset makes alignment easy and seems to procuce consistent shots.
Distance

Short-Avg-Long

Average. Similar to the Ping Eye2+ in terms of distance. Lofts are about 1/2° stronger than Eye2+ model.
Trajectory

Low-Avg-High

Average. Slightly lower penetrating ball flight than the Eye2+ model.
Feel

Less-Avg-More

Not much feedback from these irons. The feel was somewhat harsh on all but "pured" hits. These irons are swingweighted higher than the Eye2+s. An improvement over the light headed Eye2 design.

Forgiveness

Less-Avg-More

Average forgiveness. Off-center hits produce blade-like results.

Looks
Compact cavity back with Custom Weight Port (CTP) in cavity, new Ping silvery gray satin finish, notch in hosel for easy lie adjustment, slanted hosel opening, less offset but similar look to the O-Size model (see picture below).
Summary
The Ping i3 Blade irons do not look like blades but have blade-like playing characteristics. With similar looks and identical lofts between the two i3 models (Blade and O-Size), golfers have the option to mix and match between the two (i.e. 3-6 irons in the O-Size and 7-PW irons in the Blade). These irons should appeal to middle to lower handicap golfers.
