More; these are the most responsive irons that
Ping has ever produced. I was a big fan of the
ISIs but the day I put the i3s in the bag I
sold my ISIs! They allow you to cut (shape)
the long iron ball flight which was very hard
to do with the ISIs. |
|
Distance |
|
|
Long;
very consistent, there are no hot spots
on the face that give that jumper knuckleball
ballflight. My yardages are the same
as they were with the ISIs. 3 iron -
215 yds, 6 iron - 181 yds, 9 iron - 139
yds.

Trajectory |
|
|
Average; trajectory is more penetrating than
with previous Ping models. |
|
Feel |
|
|
More; this is a cast club
that will let you know where on the face
the ball was struck. It will forgive
your errors pretty well but still gives
you feedback.

Average; great clubs,
easiest to hit long irons ever from PING
and their long irons have always been
the easiest in golf!

|
Looks |
Blade look at address with
minimal offset but still looks like a Ping
iron. Superb short irons and wedges that
look like traditional wedges but with the
crisp Ping finish. Weight is dead center
of clubface, more shaft options than any
other manufacturer. |
|
Summary |
I believe that these are
the best irons on the market, period. The
Ping i3 Blade is not just for the low handicapper
but anyone who like the no offset look
but still needs a little forgiveness. For
the most options and custom fitting, check
with the Ping Wrx department. It may cost
more, but for the better player this can
mean custom grinds for wedges as well as
a variety of shafts and grips to choose
from. |
